The prestige Furniture & Works of Art sales on July 9th and 10th fetched over €2.6M, with 80% of the 400 items in the catalogue sold. The Regence-period bureau plat attributed to Charles Cressent reached €177,120, doubling its estimate, alongside several notable collections.
A royal commode from the Transitional period, part of the former Rythmann collection, sold for €124,640 in the benefit of the Fondation 30 Millions d'Amis. A set of Belgian silver belonging to Philippe, Prince of Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha and Count of Flanders, sold for €124,378, while a lyre mantel-clock from the late Louis XVI and early Revolutionary period sold for €55,104.
A pair of Louis XV-period sconces of exceptional quality and chasing, very rare on the market, also won over collectors at €52,480, while Russian silverware achieved a very fine result with a Fabergé vermeil cup and saucer that beat its estimate eightfold at €31,488.
