On April 30th, Artcurial unveiled an exceptional collection of paintings, drawings, and art objects from the Marie & FĂ©lix Bracquemond collection. The auction, led by Matthieu Fournier, was a resounding success, totaling over 2 million euros inclusive of fees, with 100% of lots sold. The sale, titled Marie and Félix Bracquemond: A Couple Devoted to the Arts, witnessed numerous bidding battles among enthusiasts and collectors in attendance. Several records were established during the auction, such as the oil on canvas Les joueuses de jacquet, also known as La Partie de jacquet de Marie Bracquemond, sold for €288,640, a world record for an artwork by the artist at auction. Additionally, Félix Bracquemond's iconic Rousseau à Peigné service fetched €59,040, setting a world record for this model at auction. Furthermore, all of Félix Bracquemond's decorative art pieces achieved new auction records, previously held by Artcurial.
These remarkable results attest to the quality of the artworks presented and the creativity of the artist couple, acknowledged by 26 preemptions and numerous acquisitions by leading French and international institutions, including the Musée d'Orsay, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Bibliothèque nationale de France, and the Mobilier National.
