(Quelques usures)
Roses, oysters and grapes on an entablature, oil on canvas, Dutch school ca. 1690
13.58 x 11.61 in.
Collection particulière, France
Our composition is based on a late work by the still-life painter Cornelis de Heem (Leiden, 1631-Antwerp, 1695), which Fred Meijer dates to the 1680s (1). According to Fred Meijer, our version was probably painted a few years later after the original.
