This 993 RS is one of the 23 cars produced for the French market. As its stamped-up service book shows, it was supplied new by Porsche’s official dealer in Rouen, which was run at the time by the racing driver Raymond Narac, on 8 November 1995. Its first owner, a pharmacist in Normandy, decided in 1999 to trade in the car for another Porsche at Sonauto Levallois. It was at this point that the car’s sporting career began, when it was bought by Eric Vincenot, who finished at the top of the rankings for six years in GT championships on track, thanks to the semi-official driver Jean-Marc Bachelier and to the car’s rigorous preparation by Porsche Ravé at Arpajon and Albert Hahn in Germany. Numerous ‘Cup’-type improvements were made to the car, including anti-roll bars, an aluminium roll cage, a special limited-slip differential and, for the engine, Porsche Racing camshafts and a lightweight works flywheel. The last engine rebuild was at the end of 2013, at 99,400km, at a cost of nearly 47,000 € (the invoice is on file). It was then sold to the famous French racing driver Gérard Larrousse in 2015. He kept the car for almost a year before he had the opportunity to acquire a more recent model.
Since 2016, the car has been driven little but regularly, and solely on the road. It now has just 106,294km on the clock and has had only two owners since Larrousse. The car comes with its books and two sets of keys, as well as its tyre pressure gauge and inflation compressor, jack and original toolkit. It is worth emphasising that, despite its history on track, the car has never been damaged in an accident and can be enjoyed by its new owner as an all-rounder with distinguished provenance, ideally suited for use on track or on the road, and, either way, an extremely fast machine!
