As the original service booklet shows, this beautiful little Z600 was sold new to a Ms Pesque by the URVOAS garage in Deauville les Rouen on 15 March 1974. The logbook shows the mileage of the car before it was sold in 1982 to a lady from the Vosges.

The car was then carefully preserved by her son, who became a car and motorbike collector until his death in 2013. It was then that the Z600 was discovered, in very good original condition and able to be started, by a major Parisian collector. It had about 42,000 km on the clock, which according to the service book was probably its original mileage and explains why it was so well-preserved.

In 2022, Michel Magnin was looking for a restoration project to occupy his time during retirement when he came across the Z600. His background as a former motorcyclist led him to take a close look at this little Japanese car, which provided an excellent base for an fine restoration. So, working without any time constraints, the shell was stripped bare, with the lower parts treated for rust and repainted. The wiring harness has been completely overhauled and the entire braking system is new. The engine had been rebuilt after 36,000 km and was running satisfactorily. The custom exhaust system had been designed by Michel Magnin. The huge advantage was that the car, being in exceptional original condition, was able to retain its original interior and hardware. It took over 250 hours to complete the work.
