Launched in 1993, The Mercedes G-Class instantly stood out for its high-level off-road capabilities: it was a true all-terrain vehicle, with comfort and elegant finishing also suitable for regular road use.
The particularity of this short wheelbase G320 is the fact it was bought new by Philippe Starck, the visionary designer with international reputation who’s always focused on what matters most: creation, whatever form it may take, should improve life for the greatest number of people.
This Mercedes G320 was used on a daily basis by Philippe Starck for many years and has travelled just over 100,000 km; it was registered in his name in 2007, before being carefully stored. In 2021, the car benefited from a complete overhaul and a full service, as evidenced by several invoices, including one totalling almost €30,000 at the specialist Bracq Heritage. A high-end Hi-Fi system was recently installed, since Philippe Starck is a great music lover.
This model features the sobriety of the first generation G-Class (Type 463) and with its 3.2-litre 6-cylinder engine producing 210 hp, it still has a performance that is relevant today. Now in excellent condition with its black paint and original light grey leather seats with a pleasant patina, this car has a mileage of 132,000 km since new. Finding a first-generation G-Cass still in the hands of its first owner (especially one as glorious and in such well-preserved condition) is extremely rare. Enthusiasts will definitely pay attention.
