- Matching numbers
- Sold new in France by Pozzi
- 4th hand, consistent maintenance
- Coming out of the major overhaul at Pozzi Le Mans (€25,000)
This gorgeous Ferrari 512 BB was sold by Ch. Pozzi SA to Mr. R. from Port Leucate in the south of France in November 1979 and is presented in its most desirable colour combination: grey, “Daytona” leather seats in burgundy and black. The service logbook has been regularly stamped and shows a meticulous servicing until 1995, at the purchase by the second owner. The car was then acquired in 2006 by the previous owner. A technical inspection report from 2006 to 2020 bears witness of a highly consistent maintenance. It joined its current collection in February 2020, purchased at the Rétromobile sale when it had 58,032km and had just undergone a complete overhaul. This BB512 has a mileage of just over 58,000 km and just came out from a complete overhaul.
In August 2024, after 58,578 km, the car was completely overhauled by Charles Pozzi at Le Mans, with removal of the drive train to replace the timing belt and adjust the valve clearance. The windscreen with integrated radio antenna was replaced as it was cracked, as were the ignition wiring harness, Lockheed tank, Calorstat and cooling hoses. Ignition and carburetion were also overhauled. More than €25,000 was spent at Pozzi to ensure the car's faultless operation, and the air conditioning was recharged.
We can only recommend this marvel delivered with its full original case including user manual, warranty and stamped service logbook, as well as the radio manual. Rarer than the injection version (929 units compared to 1,007 with injection), the 512BB is the very last Ferrari with carburetors. Having known only a limited amount of owners, this example of French origin with matching numbers, just serviced, and in one of the most attractive colour combinations, offers an undeniable appeal.
