This Turbolook Speedster is exceptional in so many ways. First, it is one of the rare examples sold new in France. Imported by Sonauto, it was delivered on the 24th July 1989 by the Porsche agent of Seysinnet-Pariset in Isere. It was in Indian red colour with a black leather interior and equipped with several options: 40% limited-slip differential, electric sports front seats, alarm, no spoiler for aesthetic reasons, etc.
In 1992, it was entrusted to the famous German tuning specialist RUF for mechanical and aesthetic upgrades, as evidenced by the car’s file. The chassis was lowered and fitted with a front and rear suspension kit, a rear stabiliser bar and a front anti-roll bar. Aesthetically, the car had a front spoiler fitted, as well as a specific rear skirt, turbo-style mirrors and Speedline alloy wheels. Inside, gauges were discreetly marked with the RUF logo. More unusual, the car also had mechanical upgrades, including a specific engine management unit and a dual-exit exhaust system. The service logbook shows a regular servicing by Porsche specialists, the last one being carried out in July 2024 at MJ Technic when the mileage was at 51,656 km. During that period, the car was inspected and the report states that the bodywork is in excellent condition, with no signs of corrosion or deformation; the paint quality is also outstanding. The upholstery and the hood are well-preserved.
Maintained in perfect working order and accompanied by its service logbooks and documented history, this example is most certainly the only French Speedster that has received a RUF preparation, which makes it an exceptional collector’s item.
