- A well-executed cyclecar
- Attractive older restoration
- Electric starter
- No reserve
This Peugeot Quadrilette was acquired by the current owner’s husband in 1978. The manufacturer’s plate on the dashboard shows the chassis number 6958, denoting a Type 172 belonging to the cyclecar category. The registration document, on the other hand, gives the chassis number as 5408, for reasons unknown. Carefully restored from the chassis up in the 1980s, as can be seen in a file of photographs, this charming motorcar still has an NE2 engine, which is correct for the model. It has numerous accessories, including a wicker umbrella holder, a searchlight and the optional lighting system. To make the car easier to use, an electric starter has been fitted. We noted that the car drives well overall, only the rear brake rods will need adjustment, following the recent restoration of the rear axle. It comes with a 172R owner’s manual and a spare parts manual. This is a rare and affordable entrée into the world of cyclecars.
Please note that contrary to what is written in the paper version of the catalogue, the car has no title.
