This is a unique opportunity for collectors who are keen on motorsport history. We are delighted to offer this Alpine A110 1600 SC, which was acquired by Jean-Pierre Jabouille some 10 years ago and is now being sold by his son Victor. As a legendary French driver, Jean-Pierre Jabouille (known for his technical excellence and performance on the track) got his career started in national and European races. He joined Renault and became a key player in the development of the turbo engine in Formula 1 and endurance racing, revolutionising the sport. Jabouille remains famous for his historic victory at the French Grand Prix in 1979, as well as his victory at the Austrian Grand Prix in 1980, placing his name among one of very few French drivers to triumph in F1 at that time. It seemed logical that the French driver who triumphed in a Renault would acquire a rally legend, the iconic A110 in its most advanced version, the 1600 SC. As soon as he bought it, Jean-Pierre Jabouille wanted an even more powerful car. It was sent to specialist Ferry Developpement for a complete mechanical overhaul and conversion from the standard 1600 cc engine to a 1950 cc engine for more power, and the addition of a dog clutch gearbox. It was serviced there regularly. Highly powerful at the driver's request, the car is now in superb condition, both mechanically and aesthetically. This particular Berlinette example truly embodies the spirit and passion of a racing driver who had a significant impact on the history of French motorsport.
Please note that the car is sold without technical inspection of less than 6 months.
