According to its ‘Certificato di Origine’ from Alfa Romeo Classiche, this Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Touring left the factory on 26 February 1959 and was delivered to the United States on 3 March that year. In addition to this certificate, a declaration from the Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo confirms that the car still has its original engine.

According to the copies of its old registration documents, the car – whose first owner lived in Los Angeles – remained with the same family until the 1970s, and was then in Arizona until 2014, before returning to Europe when it was purchased by its current owner. On arrival, it underwent a restoration from 2016-2025. The body, which was very sound, was sanded down and repainted in black, whereas it had originally been red, and the chromework refurbished. The interior, trimmed in light beige leather, was restored, as was the hood. The engine and gearbox were completely overhauled by an Alfa Romeo specialist. The electrical system was overhauled, the braking system rebuilt and the shock absorbers and tyres replaced. In short, this lover of Italian sports cars left nothing to chance and made a point of keeping all the details specific to the US versions such as the speedometer, bumpers and indicators.

An upmarket sports car in its day, with bodywork by Touring, this rare and attractive Alfa 2000 Spider Touring has the added benefit of its original engine and a major restoration starting from a sound basis, which will allow its new owner to enjoy its many qualities to the full.
