- Rare model of the inter-war period in France
- Very high quality restoration
- Proven itself during the “Motorcycle Cannonball”
- No reserve
This beautiful Harley Davidson Model J was purchased in the 2010s especially to assist Paul-Emile B. during the American “Motorcycle Cannonball”, a rally crossing the United States from east to west. After purchasing it from a Belgian specialist, it had a full restoration carried out by Michel Magnin. The frame was stripped down, the engine was rebuilt with new pistons and valves and the electrical system was refurbished with two batteries (doubled for safety reasons). Originally dark green with burgundy stripes, it was repainted in orange and brown with gold stripes, colours reminiscent of a major French luxury brand. Once the restoration was completed, this bike (in the hands of Michel Magnin) took part in the Cannonball without any issue, proving to be flawlessly reliable.
During a rally in Ireland, Michel Magnin had the opportunity to lend the bike to a British motorcycle enthusiast who thought that this Harley ran like an English motorcycle from the 1940s! It’s no surprise, as the 1,000 cc V-twin engine delivers impressive torque for its era.
Complete with its original components (including the Harley ammeter, which is almost impossible to find) and with a restoration that exceeds the price of the motorcycle, this proven Harley Model J is ready for adventure and will take its new owner on thrilling rides with the powerful sound of its big V-twin engine.
