Following in the footsteps of the pre-war Speed Twin, which shook up tradition with its vertical twin engine, Triumph continued to develop its model. On sale from 1946, the Tiger 100 was based on the 500 cc engine designed by Edward Turner, with overhead valves controlled by two camshafts at the bottom of the block. At this point the bike was a little more powerful, before evolving over the years towards more generous displacements, as on the Tiger 650 we are presenting here. Derived from the 650 Trophy, it featured a twin-cam front brake and its 42 bhp enabled a top speed of more than 175 km/h. A particularly popular model on the American market, the Tiger TR6R began showing its age when compared to the new models from Japan.

The motorbike from the Panini collection is in original used condition, complete with accessories. It features front and rear indicators, a rev counter, and a speedometer that is rather optimistically graduated up to 250 km/h. It was previously registered in the Parma region: PR 60009. According to its frame number, the bike was manufactured in November 1970, and is a 1971 model.

The characteristic sound of its big twin will accompany its new owner on his or her rides, aboard a motorbike that remains faithful to the British spirit of the 1950s.
