As Marcel Massini has confirmed, this Ferrari Daytona left the factory on 22 August 1973 and was delivered new in September to Ferrari’s importer in Geneva (SAVAF), who immediately sold it to its first owner, M. Riotton, a resident of Geneva. The colour reference at the time was ’Argento Met. 106-E-1 Salchi’ with ‘Pelle Nera VM 8500’ upholstery.

In 1984, the car was repainted in the same shade of metallic grey and was fitted with two fog lamps behind the grille and wider rear wheels. In June 1998, it was sold by its first owner to M. Maunoir, a very important collector based near Geneva, who registered the car in his name in January 2000 with the number GE 7008. Eight years later, the bodywork and dashboard were restored and the steering wheel replaced, in preparation for its Ferrari Classiche certification. This was granted on 16 April 2009, with the issue of the certificate of authenticity no. 1197, together with the precious ‘Red Book’. It confirms that the car is still equipped with its original engine and that the gearbox has been replaced by a compliant 605 type n°1263 one.

In August 2012, the Daytona was offered for sale by Carugati Automobiles, a renowned dealer and Ferrari specialist in Geneva. On 19 June 2016, the car was presented at the first concours d’élégance held at the Château de Coppet on the shores of Lake Geneva. On this occasion, it had the registration number GE 500188. The car was kept by Tiziano Carugati.

In 2020, it joined the ‘Silver Collection’, bringing with it the charm of one of the last front-engined V12 Ferraris from the period. In fine condition and faithful to its original specification, it has attractively patinated upholstery, evidence of the care with which it has been used. With its known history and low number of owners, this is one of the most desirable Daytonas on the market.
