This elegant coupé was sold new on 31 July 1969 through the importer Royal Elysées by the Mercedes-Benz dealership at Saint-Maur-des-Fossés to the Berals company in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. Finished in Papyrus White (717G) with a dark blue leather interior and equipped with manual transmission, it had already covered 15,542km in 1970 and 65,620km by 1972, as the service book stamped by the Garage du Parc Monceau in Paris confirms. This 280 SE has undergone a full body restoration in its original colour. An examination of the underbody, protected by paraffin wax, testifies to the care taken over this work, as do the well-aligned panels. The engine and running gear received the same attention, while the superb original leather interior could be kept. The Vredestein tyres are from 2021 and are in near-new condition. The car comes with its original books, ‘Datenkarte’, jack and starting handle, as well as a tool kit. This carefully restored, high-quality motorcar is sure to attract the attention of connoisseurs.
