With 810 examples manufactured between 1922 and 1928, the Peugeot 174 was a high-end model from the brand of Sochaux and had a powerful 3.8L valveless engine. A sportier version with a shorter wheelbase chassis (the 174 S) was also offered and two examples took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1926. The long wheelbase chassis could accommodate a wide variety of bodyworks, one of the most spectacular being an aerodynamic saloon built by Labourdette (pictures and drawings of various body styles of that era are included in the file). Surviving 174 examples are rare and this complete rolling chassis is a great opportunity. Once restored, it will be able to be fitted with a bodywork to suit the taste of its new owner, who will experience the joy of driving a little-known (yet, exclusive) automobile which has had numerous participations in its racing version.
