- Complete, high-quality restoration

Panhard always stood out for its innovative designs and the X72 panoramic model was no exception. It was fitted with the 2.5-litre six-cylinder engine of a sleeve-valve type licensed from Knight that the company favoured; this was synonymous with flexibility and remarkably quiet running, thus explaining why Gabriel Voisin was so keen on it.
The 6CS we are presenting has a splendid four-light saloon body, complete with an accessory trunk from P. Blondin. It was originally registered in 1935 in the Meurthe-et-Moselle, with the number 152 KU 4, which it retained until it underwent a full, high-quality restoration from 1998-2001. We can only applaud the great care taken over this work, the Panhard having kept the multitude of details that make motorcars like this so delightful.
The current owner’s husband acquired the car in 2008 and subsequently took part in rallies in the region around Tours, looking after it meticulously. A file of bills shows the maintenance work carried out on the car since then, including the replacement of the clutch in 2019. Our road test demonstrated how thoughtfully the restoration had been carried out: the engine runs well and the car is pleasant to drive. With its breathtaking styling, this magnificent Panhard will appeal to those who love innovative engineering and design. Undertaking a restoration like this today would be extremely costly, so make the most of this rare opportunity with a car ready to be enjoyed!
