The most iconic military vehicle of the Second World War, the Willys Jeep is now a sought-after and indispensable collector's item.
As stated in the manufacturer's records, chassis 367763 was produced at the end of August 1944. Discovered in 1987 by the current owner’s partner, this Jeep clearly had a mechanical restoration at the E.R.G.M. in La Maltournée, as evidenced by the plate affixed to the engine, dated 23rd December 1968. This organisation was responsible for the restoration of lightweight off-road vehicles for the French army. This fascinating MB version still features its original riveted chassis plate and is in well-preserved condition. Driven over short distances, its mileage totalled 2,014 km in 1995, 3,072 km in 2011 and 3,377 km to date, even though it has been stored without being driven for around eight years. It still has its rifle rack, shovel and pickaxe, as well as a German jerry can and its soft top system. More modern indicators have been fitted at the front and the expansion tank mounted on the grille is made of glass. In overall homogeneous condition, in need of restarting and servicing, this interesting Jeep is an affordable opportunity to acquire an authentic Second World War vehicle.
