- Matching numbers, original colour
- Rare version with external oil filler flap and injection engine
- Extensive history and invoice documentation
Sold new in the United States in June 1972 (as evidenced by its Porsche certificate), this example is a sought-after version featuring an external oil filler flap. Finished in ‘metallic gold’ (ref. 133), it is fitted with the 2.4-litre fuel-injected engine (10 hp more powerful than the European carburettor versions) and an optional 5-speed gearbox. In terms of equipment, it benefited from 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning and tinted windows, as indicated on the copy of the car's purchase order.
In 2002, whilst it was still in Texas (where it had been sold new), its engine was completely overhauled at a cost of nearly $10,000. Drawn by its rare model year, its current owner acquired it in 2011 and this particular example still features its original engine and gearbox. The car had been repainted in red, but he decided to bring it back to its original colour; the result of the latter is stunning. This work (which included a full strip-down) is evidenced by an invoice for €35,000 included in the file. The black faux leather interior is consistent with the original specification, with the exception of the front sports seats in faux leather and Pepita fabric, which complement the car perfectly. A detailed inspection report for this stunning 911 (carried out in February 2026) is included in a substantial file of invoices dating back to 1988. With its impressive specifications, well-documented history and the significant recent work it has benefited from, this 2.4T is bound to impress.
