By teaming up with Lotus, Opel created a genuine sports saloon which could compete with the best coupés of its generation. Its turbocharged 3.6-litre 6-cylinder engine put out 376 bhp and, thanks to its six-speed gearbox, the car could exceed 280 km/h. This example is one of the 59 cars officially sold in France (666 were built in left-hand drive) and was bought new by its current owner, a notary from Brittany, on 20 August 1992, as the original sales invoice in its history file confirms. Used by his wife to drive between their two offices, some 20 km apart, the Omega led a quiet life, and its owner told us with a smile that it had probably never been driven in 6th gear! Carefully looked after, the car comes with a substantial history file containing its books and manuals, including the stamped-up service book, a file of bills, its temporary registration certificate, the certificate of conformity struck through in red and even the workshop repair manuals. This fine example has covered less than       133,500 km from new; finished in Imperial Green (the only colour available) and equipped with a sunroof, it is in original condition, with a few minor blemishes from the passage of time. An additional front bumper may be collected from the owner. Demanding enthusiasts take note: this is certainly the last one-owner French Lotus Omega in existence, with a clear, extensively documented history, making it truly a rare gem!
