Vendue neuve en France et immatriculée dans le Var le 23 mars 1976, cette 280 SL avait été commandée de couleur « Ivoire clair » avec intérieur en cuir « Safran ». Au titre des options, elle dispose de la boîte automatique à 4 rapports, des vitres électriques, du verrouillage centralisé et des vitrages athermiques. Elle est accompagnée d’un bon de commande d’occasion de septembre 1981, édité par le garage Foch de la Valette, au profit d’un Toulonnais qui va la conserver jusqu’en 2020 ! Cet élégant cabriolet, toujours équipé de son hard-top, est en bel état d’origine, très sain et ayant été anciennement repeint. L’intérieur est d’origine et bien préservé et l’on trouve dans la boîte à gants la notice d’entretien d’époque ainsi que la ‘Datenkarte’ et le carnet d’entretien qui précise que la voiture avait 22 300 km en 1978. Dans le coffre, on retrouve la roue de secours en aluminium, identique à celles qui équipent la voiture et qui sont chaussées de pneus Falken dans un état proche du neuf, datant de 2018. Bien préservé et totalisant 73 948 km lors de notre examen, ce bel exemplaire dispose d’un historique limpide et constitue une occasion peu courante.

Sold new in France and registered in the Var on 23 March 1976, this 280 SL was ordered in Light Ivory with a Saffron leather interior. The options specified included a four-speed automatic gearbox, electric windows, central locking and heat-absorbing glass. It comes with an order form as a used car in September 1981 from the Foch garage in La Valette, made out to a resident of Toulon, who kept the car until 2020! This elegant convertible, which still has its hardtop, is in good original condition; it is very sound and was previously repainted. The original interior is well preserved, and inside the glove box there are the service instructions from when it was new, as well as the ‘Datenkarte’ and the service book showing that the car had done 22,300km in 1978. The boot houses the spare, an alloy wheel identical to those fitted to the car, which have Falken tyres in near-new condition, dating from 2018. Well preserved and with 73,948km on the clock when we inspected it, this fine example has a clear history and represents a rare opportunity.
