Avant l'arrivée des monospaces et SUV, les familles se tournaient généralement vers les carrosseries break pour pouvoir loger enfants et bagages. De pur utilitaire, le break est devenu un véhicule élégant et agréable à vivre, ce que traduit parfaitement ce concept car Evado présenté au Salon de Genève 1995.

Très spacieuse, l'Evado annonce le break Laguna commercialisé quelques mois plus tard sous l'appellation Nevada. Pour lui faire perdre son caractère strictement fonctionnel, les concepteurs ont travaillé sur une ligne élégante, avec à l'arrière une lunette englobant les feux et, à l'avant, une ligne fluide intégrant bouclier, phares et calandre. Les passagers bénéficient d'un vitrage électrochrome avec assombrissement progressif et réglable, ainsi que d’attentions inédites sur ce genre de véhicule : à l'avant, un système de navigation Carminat ; au milieu pour les ados, une console pour l’écoute individuelle de CD ; à l’arrière pour les petits, un coffre à jouets intégré au plancher. La sellerie est en cuir et tissu, et les protections imitation bois qui courent sur les flancs ne sont pas sans rappeler les "woodies" américains. Ainsi, le break devient avec l'Evado une auto de plaisir et de caractère !

Selon sa fiche de renseignement la voiture était déjà dans la collection et elle est équipée d’un moteur du type F3PD, de 1800 cm3.

S'agissant d'un concept-car, elle ne possède pas de numéro de châssis et ne peut pas être immatriculée pour la route mais le bel état de préservation de cette voiture rend hommage à son originalité et son élégance.

Before the advent of MPVs and SUVs, families generally turned to estate models to transport their children and luggage. The estate developed from a purely utilitarian vehicle into a stylish car that was pleasant to use, which is perfectly reflected in the Evado concept car, presented at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show.

 

The extremely spacious Evado prefigured the Laguna estate, which went on sale as the Nevada a few months later. In order to lose its strictly functional character, the designers gave the car a stylish appearance with a rear window incorporating the tail-lamps and, at the front, a smooth design integrating the bumper, headlamps and grille. The passengers were treated to electrochromic glass with progressive and adjustable tinting, as well as features never seen before on this type of vehicle: in the front, a Carminat navigation system; in the middle row, a console for teenagers to listen to CDs individually; and for the kids in the back, a toybox built into the floor. The upholstery was in leather and cloth, while the fake wood protective strips along the sides of the car harked back to the American ‘woodies’. With the Evado, the estate became a car of character, a car to enjoy!

According to its datasheet, the car was already in the collection and is fitted with an 1800cc type F3PD engine.

As a concept car, it does not have a chassis number and cannot be registered for use on the road, but its well-preserved condition is a fitting tribute to its originality and elegant design.
