Réalisée au sein de l’école de stylisme Espera Sbarro, fondée par le célèbre Franco Sbarro, la Katana est un concept-car très abouti, puisque roulant, motorisé par un moteur VTEC de 160 cv. La Katana a été réalisée en collaboration avec Orange qui avait demandé que le tableau de bord soit stylisé afin d’intégrer un smartphone et insérer un autoradio kit mains-libres Bluetooth, marquant une volonté de proposer des services multimédia répondant aux besoins de communication des automobilistes. Avec son design spectaculaire, la Katana fut remarquée et appréciée lors de sa présentation au Salon de Genève et lors du Mondial de l’Automobile de Paris en 2008. La voiture est aujourd’hui demeurée en état d’origine, jamais restaurée, la mécanique est à redémarrer et méritera une révision, tout comme le système de freinage qui sera à remettre en état.

Non homologuée pour circuler sur la route, ce concept-car n’en demeure pas moins spectaculaire avec sa mécanique pétillante et son design réussi, il suscitera l’admiration lors de démonstrations sur piste ou lors d’expositions.

Produced at the Espera Sbarro design school, founded by the famous designer Franco Sbarro, the Katana is a fully developed concept car, as it has a 160 bhp VTEC engine and can be driven. The Katana was produced in association with Orange, who requested that the dashboard should be styled in such a way as to integrate a smartphone and incorporate a hands-free Bluetooth car radio, signalling the company’s desire to offer multimedia services meeting motorists’ communication needs. With its spectacular design, the Katana attracted attention and was well received when it was presented at the Geneva and Paris Motor Shows in 2008. The car is still in its original condition today and has never been restored; the engine has to be restarted and will require a service, while the brakes will need to be overhauled.

Not homologated for use on the road, this remains a spectacular concept car with its lively engine and successful design, and it is sure to be admired at shows or demonstrations on track.
