Ce vis-à-vis De Dion Bouton est particulièrement intéressant car il s’agit d’un type D, le plus ancien et le plus recherché. Il est bien évidemment éligible au célèbre London to Brighton Veteran Car Run auquel il a pris part en novembre 2008.
Un rapport d'expertise très détaillé de 2019 de Mario Montanaro, spécialiste des voitures de cette époque, donne le détail de son histoire et de ses numéros de série, nous invitons les acheteurs intéressés à le consulter. Cette voiture est sortie de l'ombre dans les années 50 chez un brocanteur de la région toulousaine, M. Gréfeuille, qui l'a remise en état pour participer à des évènements locaux. Elle a été ensuite stockée, passant entre les mains de la fille du propriétaire à la suite de son décès dans les années 80. Ce n'est qu'en 2008 qu'elle a quitté cette famille du sud-ouest, lors d'une vente aux enchères. Son nouveau propriétaire a procédé à une remise en route pour participer au Londres-Brighton.
Cette voiture n'a plus sa plaque de numéro de châssis vissée sur le seuil d’habitacle, mais les différents numéros identifiés et l'inspection de la voiture ont permis de constater quelques modifications assez répandues et effectuées sans doute vers 1907 (direction inclinée et moteur 4,5 CV au lieu de 3,5 CV). Le numéro de série du moteur est celui qui figure sur la carte grise. Pour le reste, elle est en très grande partie d'origine et représente la rare opportunité d'acquérir une machine véritablement historique, témoin des balbutiements de l'automobile au début du siècle et éligible à l'un des rallyes les plus célèbres du monde. La voiture ayant été utilisée il y a 4 ans pour la dernière fois, une remise en route et un contrôle de principe seront à envisager.

This De Dion Bouton vis-à-vis is especially interesting as it is a Type D, the oldest and most sought-after model. Naturally, it is eligible for the famous London to Brighton Veteran Car Run, in which it took part in November 2008.
An extremely detailed valuation report from 2019 prepared by Mario Montanaro, a specialist in cars from this period, provides details of its history and chassis numbers, and we invite interested buyers to consult this. The car emerged from the shadows in the 1950s with an antique dealer from the Toulouse area, Mr Gréfeuille, who restored it to take part in local events. It was then laid up and passed on to the owner's daughter after he died in the 1980s. It was only in 2008 that it left this family from south-west France, when it was sold at auction. Its new owner recommissioned it in order to take part in the London to Brighton Run.
The car no longer has the plate with its chassis number screwed to the sill, but the various numbers which have been identified and an inspection of the car show some common modifications, no doubt made around 1907 (raked steering column and 4.5 HP rather than 3.5 HP engine). The engine number is that shown on the registration document. The car is otherwise largely original and represents a rare opportunity to buy a truly historic vehicle; a witness to the beginning of the century when the motorcar was in its infancy, it is eligible to enter one of the most famous events in the world. As the car was last used four years ago, it will need to be checked over and recommissioned.
